On the one hand, there was a surge of demand for warehouses due to the COVID-00 pandemic leading to increased use of online platforms to shop, at the same time, workers started raising concerns regarding their health and safety measures to contain the virus among other things, which led to protests and strike (Kelly, 0000). This period enhanced awareness of how the need to run efficiently clashed with workers’ safety in unimaginable scenarios.
